I am a Vsampler newbie. I just got it a few days ago. I am having a problem understanding Vsampler's multi mode. Soundcanvas and Dreamstation is a no brainer but Vsampler is not so easy to set up for multitimbral "multi" mode. It seems that the documentation is "vague" and does not have any tutorials to get an idea how to set and save multi setting within a song in Sonar.

I am not a "XL" user so I had to buy it separately. And I am blown away as to what it can do. I was going to get "Battery" but it seems Vsampler does the same thing.

Is there anyone out there that is using Vsampler? I have lots of questions like " how do you set up a song in Sonar to use differnt sounds in Vsampler?"

thanks

tcdave,
Just so you know
VSampler does not come with Sonar XL either.

P.S. Oh, and what are your questions?
Post'em someone might know.

Lets try the first question.....

Ok, how about this one.

In Sonar, I just wrote a song.....various MIDI parts on different tracks.....bass....horns....pads.....sampled guitar...etc..... Then, I assigned a audio track for Vsampler. I then double click the "FX" box where Vsampler is assigned so I can get the program up on the screen. (I have dual 19" monitors, I then move Vsampler over to the second monitor)

What is the "step-by-step" process to make Vsampler play and SAVE those individual parts of the song?

thanks,
tcdave

PS- I dont understand why Vsampler only has 8 channels for output. Is that because it has an onboard mixer that only has 8 channels? Who was that stupid to limit this to 8 channels? Why doesnt Vsampler let you have only one instance playing in Sonar? Why can't I edit sounds with the ADSR (sound or sample) when I edit the it drastically? I am only 1/2 way thru reading the manual but I think I read the important parts to it. So, there might be a tip in the manual that is misplaced that will answer some of these questions.....

Step-by-Step Process

I am still waiting for a step-by-step process on how to use Vsampler in Sonar. I want to use different sounds on different tracks.

thanks,
