On the VS880Ex, lets say I finished a song, got all my efx and levels etc. done, so now I'm ready to mix to two tracks.

So basically, (after I make the mix sound exactly how I want) I bounce all the tracks (1-6) to 7 & 8__ with 7 all the way left and all 8 all the way right?

is there a step I'm missing in this process I just described, something I should watch out for?
once its stereo on 7 & 8, do I just send 7 & 8 out the 'master outs' to a recorder or burn that version to a CD(audio)? Is that it? simple as that?

lets also say I finish 10 of these ''final-master songs'', and they're all individual songs, how do I bounce them all onto the same track of the same 'song' so that I may burn the final master (with CDtrack markings and all)?

more simply, how do I get sounds recorded on track 1 of 'SONG 1' to track 1 of 'SONG 3'?

Thanks for enduring a novice,

I'm assuming you've linked tracks 7 and 8 and also bounced you're effects over with tracks 1-6. After that it's all out the mains to your recording device unless you have the CD-R that Roland reccomends it's out the SCSI to the CD-R.
I usually record all my songs into the same song group and in the order I plan on putting them on the CD.I find it's easier to edit out the dead spaces and insert my markers by doing it this way.I don't think you can bounce material from one song group to another song group.(PG. 88 of the manual under Track Edit).
I've also loaded songs from diffferent song groups onto the CD and wait until I've loaded all the songs until finalizing.

Good Luck:)

I have just done a couple of the things you are asking about - so I will throw out a couple answers!

I have the same question on the panning of 7 & 8 when bouncing to them - anyone else have an idea on that - I seem to think that certain pan settings there could cause you to lose your mix????

If you have a number of different songs you can track them individually doing "song at once" to a CD - however it is easier if you can send them to a mixdown device e.g. a DAT or the likes, then from there re-record them onto tracks 7 & 8 of the **) as one song. After that use track cut or insert to add or reduce the time between each song ( I woul dshoot for about 4 seconds between each) then put down your markers between the songs so that the final burn to an audio CD recognizes and nembers each as an individual song. To do that just go to the midpoint of time between each song - hold the "song" button and then hit "tap" - this will place a mark. (You do not have to set one before the start of the first song the machine and CD automatically see that.)

Once you are ready to burn an audio CD follow the menu and book instructions - It will take some time. First the machine writes I believe they call it an image file (the dispaly screen will say "converting") this may take an hour or two - then it will actually burn to the CD.

My 880 will not let me burn a second CD without starting the whole converting process over even though the books says it should - Thank You Roland...

Anyway hope this helps!

When I'm bouncing tracks to 7&8 during the final mix I keep the pan
dead center on 7&8 but pan the other tracks going on to 7&8 appropriately.
7&8 should be linked so panning these tracks doesn't work very well.
When burning a CD, once the burner converts your material (and it does take some time to do this) you should be able to burn one CD after another (takes about 10
minutes each). After burning one the door opens and you are asked if you would like to burn another so just pop a fresh one in and hit "yes".

Adios
