Been trying to copy/BU/export from my vs880 ex from IDE drive 0 to any of my other drives "partition 1" ide drive 1, external (SCSI) SCO 0,1,2 or 3. To date I've been able to export to all the drives with no problem as long as I exprt from the original song. IE: A copied song returns the error " Not a VS 880 song". Next: When I try the copy comand it only allows the selection of the drive that the song was originally recorded to. Thus making the other drives useless for storage. My end goal is to have enough HD space to record live performance and mix down later.
Question 1: Why doesn't the vs880 recognize a song it exported?
Question 2: Why doesn't the vs880 not allow me to select the drive to copy to?
Question 3: Is there an option to BU to a external SCSI hard drive. The only options I've found are to CD or DAT.
Equipment: VS 880 ex with one IDE H.D partitioned into 2 one gigers. An external drive bay with 7 SCSI ultra wide II 4.3 gigers of which only one is currently set up and running. It is partitioned into 4 one gigers.

Got it to work

Well after a few hours and a few grey hairs It worked. The roland cecognized the drive array, initialized the single drive and allowed me to use it as if it were a IDE internal. So far all copy, export, archive functions work flawlessly. If you have similar problems let me know at "docwilson@home.com and I will E-mail ya what and how I did it and the rest of the equipment I use.
