well i bought the 2480 hard disk recorder and is great, not as user friendly as i would like it to be, but it has served it's purpose well in the past. currently i'm trying to get the cdr recorder to connect to my 2480, bc my recorder is the old version without it pre-installed. i've been able to get it to work in the past, but i recently moved all my equip and now i can't seem to get it right... maybe i'm just not connecting it right?? but i've tried a thousand times to get the damn scsi drive to connect... it ain't working. prolly not enough info for help but if you got advice i could use it... thanks

www.vsplanet.com they have the best info there... do a search and post it under the VS2480 forum. :) I'm getting my new 2480 soon so i dont have any experience with it yet... the 1880 on the other hand is a different story...lol

From what I've read about the 2480 at the PLanet, I'll likely upgrade to a dual processor Mac with Logic or Protools. The 2480 has had problems right from the get-go.

the 2480 is SO much more worth it though (morotzed faders etc that CPU's dont have)... ;) besides, sometimes Roland will service your machine for FREE and fix your problem.
