vs1824-cd

Okay,...hi everyone. Now I own a vs880ex and want to move up to the 1824cd model, what do you think,..any good? I would like to know if the effects are the same as the 880ex and also wonder if I can...lets say...add an effect to a vocal track during playback of a song and at the same time...add another different effect to the entire mix during playback, I can do this with the ex model.I understand that I can use the same effect during playback or when recording,...but I really need to know how many effects I can use at the same time during playback,...the vs880ex has two effects processors installed from the factory, well what about the 1824cd....also a friend of mind told me the panning is different a little than the ex model, but he didn't explain how the panning is different. Overall though,...is the 1824cd a better unit....who cares about the cd part of it,....what about the rest of the unit,...is it clear, the display....what does it offer compared to the ex,....well is it worth moveing to this model, or should I just stick with the ex. I don't even care that the 1824cd has more tracks,..I'm just interested in a better unit but don't want to spend to much more so the 1824cd I can handle,...but need some advice before I loose the ex, the ex is a great machine you know!!,...but I always seem to want to move up a bit. Hi digital! As yoy can see, I'm seeking info on this unit as well. I believe you can use 2 effects recording, and 4 in playback. The extra effects card (approx $250 US) doubles that. Anyway, I'll own this unit in about 2 weeks, and I'll let you know what I find out. In the meantime, log onto Roland's home page, where you can download the entire user's manual. Hope you have DSL!
By the way, maybe you should care about the CD burner, because it also allows you to import tracks from CD to your hard drive (karaoke on steiroids). As far as the panning, I think you'll find that the VS1824 CD allows you to use many more editing actions without the obnoxious shift key, which is very useful in real time. Roland's manuals notoriously suck, so we will quite likely be sharing the pain. Feel free to email me anytime- Richie

I don't know much about the 1824CD, but I would check out the www.vsplanet.com forums, they will answer all of your questions. You shoud really just get a 2480, that's what I did .
