I am finally going to purchase a Digital Workstation and know I want to spend no more than $1,500. I have a Roland XP-80 and I enjoy Roland products, so I thought maybe I would get a Roland D.A.W. I really like the fact that the Disclab can write to an onboard CD-R. This saves me $500 because I wouldn't have to get a CD burner. However, the Disclab can only record 2 tracks simultaneously. What's the deal with that? The VS-890 can do 8 at a time. Why can't the Disclab? Which would be the better purchase for me? Also, are 8 tracks really enough to produce a fat, full sounding final mastered track? I've always worked with 16 on my XP-80...are there any other models out there I should consider? Advice please!
