Who is using the VS-2480 and what kind of difficulty (if any) are you having with it? How good really is the Auto Mix and how often do you really trust in a machine to mix it down for you? Do you think the unit is worth the kind of money you paid for it? Are the built in effects good enough for professional use? Tell me what you think of the 2480. I can read the specs all day long, I really want to know your opinion of it.

Go here:

All of your questions will be answered.

I have two VSs, and they're great machines. The 2480 is, by all accounts, a bitchin' machine, and if I could've afforded 4600 Euros, I would've bought one last month. Instead I bought a 2000CD, which ought to suit my needs well enough. The automix function only does what you program it to do, and you can program it track by track, and edit each manipulation as well. The fx are quite good, especially if you load up with the VSF3 FX boards. You can get optional plugins that really impressed me when I heard them demoed on my 2000CD. I fully intend to put two of those fx boards into my machine, and get some of the more useful plugins.

YMMV, but if you check the VS2480 forum at the Planet, you will get an idea of how people feel about it, good and bad. There were some problems with the first generation of the 2480, but those are, I believe, resolved at this point.
