Hi, I have been reading this forum for a little while now and decided that I would join in hopes of getting a few questions answered. First of all, I am planning on purchasing a VS2400CD and I want to know if anyone has had any experience with this or any other VS series recorders and how they like or dislike them. I want to make sure that I get something I can use for awhile. Secondly, if you are using a VS series recorder, are you using any other PC based software to master or anyhing else, and if so what is it? Also, How are you interfacing the VS recorder with the computer? Finally I would also like to know if you are using a mic preamp or an additional mixing board. Any help would be appreciated. Thank-you.

I'm using a Roland VS-2480, and I love it. No, I'm not using any PC software (but people do and there are interface cards you can get), and no I'm not using any external preamps (but people do).

I have the VS-2400CD and I love it. Roland has a new promotion, if you buy it now till December, you get a free effects card and Dynamic drums. Check Roland website for more info.
Ask me any questions you have about the VS-2400 I had it for 4 months and would be very welcome to help you.

I have had my vs2480 for over a year and I just love it. If a 2400 was available when I made my purchase I may have got that instead. deluxe workstation.

Compressing using VS 2400 CD

Peace mon,

I'm a newbie on the scene. I am making "REGGAE Music". I have a
VS 2400 CD. I am using only The LE TRITON Keyboard to play all the instrument parts.

I. Do I need to have my Compressor and EQ on when I am recording tracks or when should I use them?

2. Give me some suggestions on how to set each feature on my compressor
( eg. ratio, threshold, attack etc.)

e-mail me---->word2k3@yahoo.com

Peace my friend.

I've been using my VS1680 for 3 months now and it is the mutts nutts!

Love it!

I have owned an VS2400 for about a year. Very good unit, very reliable. I have never lost any info on it and it sounds great! Make sure you get a monitor. It is really nice to edit with a mouse and keyboard.
