I finally made a CD of some things I recorded, to play for friends, and the overall volume of all of the mp3's is rather low (I had to turn CD players way up, much more than for other CDs). Is there any way to increase master volume so that the overall work is louder?

Before I burn to CD I export the file to a folder outside of Cakewalk and compare the file with another prerecorded file(cd,mp3,etc.)in a media player to check the volume.
You've got a few options, the volume in the main out, compression, mastering software with maximiser and limiters.
Let us know what software you've got and we can get you closer.

BTW,why are you burning mp3's to cd?You should really be burning wav. files.

Yeah, you're gonna have to compress and/or limit, and generally squash the hell out of the mix in order to get anywhere near commercial CD levels.
