Volume probs

Hey
Im new to cool edit pro and im having a realy anoying problem When im recording guitar. when i start playing and if i stop and start during recording a track the volume starts of very low and then builds up to the required level. this is driving me mad and although im sure there is a simple solution i cant figure it out.

are u recording in track view or edit view?
If in track view, then check your volume points.?
Like said above......give us more details.
