Is there anyway that i can regulate the volume of certain areas in a single pre-recorded track? for instance, say i have a guitar part and a vocal part (one track for each). Is there a way to just turn up the level of the chorus for vocals, or even other parts without amplifying each part manually? I've seen screen shots of people using line-graphs but i've never educated myself as to what those are, and i'm HOPING that they can be used to regulate volume! i hope someone understands what i'm asking! by the way, i AM using CEP, hence in the the CEP forum! tee hee! thanx!

Those "line graphs" are envelopes, basically a graphic way to perform automated fader movements, that's what you want. I've never used Cool Edit so I don't know about its envelope capabilities (or lack thereof?), but that's what you're thinking of.

skippy - yeah, you need to learn how to use the volume envelopes - it's easy to learn from the Help file. You'll also need to know how to zoom in and out on the file wherever you need to to place the envelope points accurately.

sweet!

thanx guys! thats JUST what i needed! i can't wait to get back to mixing!
