hi, thanks 4 checking this post. this is a prob i had with cwpa9 but would dissappear if i played back from the start of the track. now i'm running sonar and when i change the volume levels for midi tracks i can hear the level change but when i stop playbak and restart it the level goes back to what it was before i changed it. when i go to track properties the vol level is as i set it and when i click on the volume level the level that has been set comes back into effect.
am i missing something obivous?
if anyone can help i would consider putting u on my contacts list on my organiser and maybe invite u to one of my candelit suppers (if yr lucky) then again this may put u off replying so i'll just say thanks if you can help me out
cheers

do you have any snapshots

during the course of the song that are changing the volume while the song is playing?

also go into the event view for each track and check for controller 7 or controller 11 events. 7 is volume, and 11 is expression.

then turn on the track volume envelope and expand the track size until you can deal with it. see if there are any volume node where the volume envelope changes.

I know what you mean!!

I don't know what it is with Cakewalk, it's faders just seem to have a mind of their own. I haven't ever used the snapshots for automating (I only use the volume or pan evelopes), but I will sometimes just move the faders around to get an idea of what I want to do. But even without ever touching the snapshot button, it still sometimes moves the faders around at weird times druing playback or when I rewind the song or move back to a previous marker. So I think it's just something you are going to have to put up with (don't know if there really is a way to "fix" it).

Hope that helps,

If so......what's for dinner? :D

Someone has automation armed during recording!!!
Check it...

I had the same probs with Cakewalk.

No more with Vegas. Ha Ha Ha.

Envelopes RULE!!!

(I'm assuming you were talking to me, Tubedude)

But nope, 'tis not on....and it's done that on several songs/projects (whatever you want to call them) every once in a while. It doesn't do it all the time, like it would if I had recorded the automation while recording. I think it's just one of those many, many glitches that computers seem to like to do (all the time).

Always always always take notes about when it happened, what else you were doing, any similarities, whatever... and mail cakewalk with it. This is the stuff patches are made from. It COULD be fixed becuase of you.
