Ok, I have cool edit, heres a project i'de like to take on:

1.) Analyze the structure of a singers voice.
2.) Build a cool edit function that when someone talks into a mic it will apply a distortion to the recording so that it matches the singers voice.

This way, for example, I could record my own voice, and play it back so that my singing would sound like someone else. Whatever artist it would be that I picked *cough* james hettfield *cough*.

Anyone know how to do this? Or ideas of how to go about doing it?

Wow.....

That is absolutely audacious.

And absolutely impossible.

Impossible ? James hetfield maybe.
But I'm sure with little concentration you could easily have some Robot voices from outerspace....

You won't be able to get a robot voice with distortion, but you could with creative eq, or some harmonic resonance.

But I think he wants james hetfield

I won't say it's impossible. Dare to dream, eh? However, I've never heard of it being done anywhere on the planet yet.

Figure it out...make a billion - it'd be a kickass idea for songwriters who would like to have their demos sung by recognizable superstars.

(don't flame me, I can sing a little, lol)

i am currently writing a lisp encoded midi functionalizing interpolation program that will make any guitarist sound like edward van hagar. it will be available for the low low price of $99.99, and if you would like a beta version just send your cash or money order to: youbeasucka.com
