ssscientist said:$1000 will buy 4 channels of FMR's RNC and 4 channels of their RNLA with money left over.
Any quality compressor can sound good on vocals, and the RNC is one of my favorite units for that application.

You are welcome.

For that price, I'd look to a used MC77 or a P38. The MC77 would be the preferred choice, but the P38 is no slouch when it comes to vocals either.

It would be a bit over $1000 (maybe about $1150 or so), but then you would have a lunchbox to which you could later add additional modules. The 525 is a really nice vocal comp, although it isn't as all purpose as a Distressor.i remember these from way back when. is there any way you can describe what this thing does? like, is it graby? something like a vca or a fet? curious. i sold all my api eq's this past year and am going thru a compressor junkie thing.

It's one of the few comps I really like for kick and snare, sounds great for electric guitars to really give them an "edge" and works pretty well with most vocals. Hopefully that helps.
On another note, I have some DBX 165a's, Urei LA-4's and Spectrasonics 610's for sale![]()
