vocoder sounds effect?

Hello all,
I am kind of new here and I'd like to get some advice from everybody.

I have a vocal track recorded here and I wanna put some effect so that this vocal can sounds like robotic sounds like vocoder sound.
What I am looking for is the way or plug-in software(rtas or vst) to make this happen.

Can anyone give me some advice?

What I understand is that Vocoder is the system which hybrid the input sound (usually voice) and carrier sound (usually synth), and change the input pitch to any pitch I play on synth right?
So is there any effect which just make input sounds robotic and NOT changing the pitch?

I hope someone can understand what i am trying to say..

a vocoder has nothing to do with pitch changing and does not change pitch.
what it does ..... is take whatever musical signal you're processing and overlays whatever words you're speaking over that to articulate the musical signal as if it were speaking.
The pitch is still gonna be whatever the original pitch was. And on my vocoder the unit will put out a constant pitch instead of using an outside signal if you prefer which would be a single unchanging pitch.
Alternatively ..... you could just hold one note on a keyboard say, and then articulte that which would also be a straight unchanging pitch.
but the vocoder isn't gonna change any pitches at all.
And I'm not sure what a vocoder would do with an already recorded vocal line but I don't think a vocoder is what you're looking for.
Not sure what they're called but I have heard filters of various kinds that'll robotize your vocals.
Someone will be along with a plug-in that'll do it though, I'm sure.

so, this orange vocoder plug-in can robotize my already recorded vocal line?
and,, i just noticed that this software doesn't work on my intel mac...
does anyone have idea what software i should get?
