anyone have a good technique to keep bleed from vocal sinto guitar mic?
i'm using an akg c1000s on the guitar pointing down and away from vocals going to a firepod interface using cubase sx3, if any of that matters.

Well...tracking them to separate tracks would be best as far as clarity.

But if you've got another mic, say a small diameter cond, you could set that at the bridge about 4 inches away. Go ahead and track both mics the way you want em. Pan the LDC straight up and the SDC hard right (or left) and then FLIP the Phase on the sdc. Flipping the phase is kinda the thing that makes this work.

Or track them separately. :D

Thanks for the replies. I guess I should also say that I am using am MXL 990 LDM on the vocals to another track. Is there a good placement to use with the guitar mic to keep it from catching that much vocal? I am also going to check into the phase reversal.

placement.

With your headphones on, try different places with the AKG. Pointing at the soundhole is normally not it with me but there are times it works fine. Maybe around the 12th fret but come from above and angle it down to try and get less vox in that mic. Maybe angle your MXL upward to cut down on guit. ???
Try it in a few different places and see what sounds best to you. That's the cool thing about this. There are no right ways. :D

Let your ears be your guide, grasshopper.
