Vocal Video Question

- if the beats are mono they have no spread and so the vocals are fighting for the center of the stereo spectrum. The only solution would be turn down the beats so they are lower in volume than the vocals.
- the beats look like they have been mastered to be extremely loud so you will definitely have to lower their volume in any case.
- using mastered beats always causes this problem as they are way too loud for mixing properly.
- stereo would help if you could turn them down and push them off to the sides allowing the vocals to sit in the middle. Again you still have to turn the vocals way up and the beats way down for them to be balanced.

Yes what Ido is saying.
Turn the beat (backing track down)
Most of the time it is about levels, sure you can compress/limit your vocals, and do some eq trimming, but in the end it's really simple, what do you want to hear?

So there's 3+ minutes of YouTube video showing the DAW screen with the beat and vocal tracks, and lots of talking about them...but not even 1 sec of the actual beat & vocal to be heard. :D

What was your question...???

Yeah thanks, I just felt a little weird having to bump up my vocals and lower the beat to make it normal. Is the fact that its stereo have anything to do with it being louder (like bc theres two sound sources-One for each ear)?
