Anyone have any experience with lower-end vocal processors? I saw one by Digitech in my latest Musician's Friend catalog, think it was around $200. Sort of like a guitar floorboard processor, but for vocals.

I'm looking for something that will enhance my crappy singing for some demos I'm doing in n-track. Something that will add depth, smooth things out, maybe do double-tracking, pitch correction......Want to sound the best I can for the least amount.

I'm recording direct to my soundcard's "line in" jack, too.

I would start with the fundamentals before jumping for a low-end voice processor. These units promise a lot but they often fail to deliver. By fundamentals I mean a good mic, soundcard, preamp, etc. Also work on the singing--it takes practice and hard work just like playing an instrument.

I have demo'd several low end units only to find they produce more sound effects like aliens, deep throat, etc...
Not too good for reverb, chorus, etc..
I have discovered that a guitar processor produced better results.
