Vocal Pre's & Guitar Pre's

I couldn't find any other section to post this in so this section seemed like it would fit. See, I'm looking for a good pre for vocals that would link up to my sound card via Firewire...or even via a digital cable. Do these exist? Are there any out there that are a huge value for the money? I'm also looking, to a lesser extent, for a guitar pre. If I could get both in one package, fine...but I don't want my vocal pre to suffere because of that.

The guitar pre will be for bass only, most likely. I have other ways of recording 6-string guitars. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

Hi MR,

This might just fit you. 2-channel tube pre with mic/instument inputs and digital out.
I use the DBX 286A preamp, and their stuff is quiet and well-built.

hmm - not firewire but fmraudio.com have a highly respected mic pre,
also rane ms1b, and for affordable dmp3.
you might also check out the features of a yamaha mg mixer sometime.
it might just do it for you. very cheap anf lots of folks like them.
just some alternatives to look at. peace.
