I had decided to get a Rode NT-1A, but my funds may be a little short, so for 150 bucks, I can go for CAD Trion 6000 or a Behringer B-2 or
a MXL V57 or a KAM C3 and its just so hard to decide without actually trying them out. The only place I have is a GC that is 28 miles away
and im not sure they have any setups for trying mics out.
I own a Sterling Audio ST51 and its been fine, but I would like something different to try out
and I want it for vocal only, not guitar or anything else. I plug my guitars in directly to recording device.
I like ford and you like chevy and he likes dodge, so with the amount of mics available, its so subjective
to just decide by looking online. The possibility exists that what I may need to do is just learn more about
editing with my software and get rid of clipping and just fix what I do wrong. At least I have now been
recording my guitar parts on a seperate track and then doing my singing on another track.

The old saying "You get what you pay for" is sure a factor here, but if your voice is not all that
great to begin with, do you really want to spend more and have it sound worse ??? LOL !!!!

Thank you for any advice you can give me, and the mic I buy is for studio recording only, not live.

Rode NTK and Behringer C1 are best mics for recording Rode NTK are bit expensive but Behringer C1 are not expensive you can afford them easily......

you will get better advice in the microphone part of the forum.
Take your time deciding and try some out if you have the chance too.
Laters:)

If I read correctly, you have a $150 budget for a studio only vocal mic? MXL V67G. It's well-reviewed on here and I can vouch for it as well. Other considerations: AT2020, AT2035, and Studio Projects B1.
