I've been trying to figure out how to get a distinct synth effect on my vocals. Something along the lines of the band Attack Attack. I have Waves Morphoder vocoder but I'm not sure if I can use that to do this or not.

Wow you spent money on a pricey product such as waves and dont know how to use it?

Get a refund;)

He could be trialling it...or it could have fallen off the back of a truck.

...or maybe he bought it in the bundle, rather than item specific ?

ok. First of all I did get this in a bundle. I have a basic idea of what the morphoder does I was jsut wondering if I could use it for this effect, so if you don't have answer why post?

...but you don't say that you didn't download the bundle. :p Only messing about with ya dude.

The thing is, the simple answer to your question is yes...you'll get a sound simular to 'attack attack' by using a vocoder but I think they do tend to use a combination of vocoder and pitch correction abuse...abuse in an artistic way I mean btw...I'm not knocking them, they're not my cup of tea though.

But I think what triggered the response above is, if you have an idea what the morphoder does, then why not just experiment with it and find out if you can get the sound you want?

I'm not familiar with morphoder as I've never heard it but if I wanted to try to get a sound simular to 'attack'...I'd vocode the vocal and then consider using either pitch correction or maybe...just try using a pitch bend on the synth of the vocoded signal. Hope this helps a little...

Mart.

Personally, after getting stuck in traffic and having to listen to an R&B station for over an hour, I can't stand the sound of a vocoder anymore. EVERY song had some sort of vocoder/autotune abuse/vocal effect on it. Doesn't anyone sing anymore?

Thanks for the help Mart. And yeah I get what you saying with the responses above. I'll try using Tune and the vocoder to see if I can find what I'm looking for.
