Vocal Effects????

Hey people, I just want to know how the effects for vocals are given. Like the smooth change in the vocal sound while the singer changes the pitch(or sometimes even not). I really dont know how to describe this. I would say the effect in the song- Do you believe.. by Cher. I ve heard this in many techno/trance remixes as well.(I hope you guys got a hint). How can I get that kind of effect to the vocals? As I really dont record vocals and stuff, I just want to use it in my remixes. So could you guys tell me if I can get that effect in softwares/vsti s? I use mainly Fl studio. Tell me also if you dont get my point, I shall give you more examples.

Which one is better: Cadillac 16 or Cadillac Escalade?

They are two different things - meant to accomplish different tasks.
Autotune plays around with pitch,vibrato and formant of a recorded piece of vocal or instrument clip.

Hey, would you guys please give chance for me to explain... I ddnt know what was Antares and how its gonna sound like. That was the first time I m hearing somethin like that, so I just wannned to try it out and I honestly I ddnt try to 'download it' and use. I was supposed to check out the demo, as they are providing it themselves and honestly I dont have any intentions as you guys think. So please dont take me in that way.
