Hi, i want to add reverb to my vocal tracks from a dynamic mic, before it is recorded. Can anyone suggest a CHEAP effects box that I can just plug in in series, pre-mixer? Would I need a pre-amp or anythin with it?
Thanks

As all mics need a preamp, you'd go from the output of a pre into the input of your reverb unit (I have an old Alesis nanoverb which would work as well as the PicoVerb). Then out of the reverb unit into your recording device.

Why do you want to record WITH reverb? BAD IDEA! You should always record dry (maybe with some compression IF you know what you are doing) and add effects (reverb/eq/etc...) while mixing down.

re:

I have neither the experience or money to mix-down properly, i've got really really limited funds, i just wanna get my vocals sounding ok in the mix, cus at the moment it is excrutiating listening to them sit on top of the mix. Any ideas? (REMEMBER - limited funds)

So why not take the time learn how to mix down properly? What's the hurry? How are you recording? If you are using some sort of software on the PC, there are a ton of decent free reverb plug-ins (freeverb is pretty decent).
