Hi To All Forum Mates,

When I record by mic my vocals on sony vegas 5.0 software my voice is not of the same magnitude throughout and somewhere its is little high or little low sometimes. I want my vocals throughout of the same frequency,so what shall I do shall I put the compression to hard limiter before I start recording or is there anything esle that you people on the forum suggests.Of course when I record by mic I sometime go ahead sometime go back.Is there anything in the recording software that helps in recording throughout with the same frequency or magnitude or parameter????

Love to all forum mates and blessings!

Hani

By "high" and "low," do you mean volume? Comp/limiting will handle that. However, you use the term "frequency" which suggests to me that you're talking about something else. Are you familiar with proximity effect? Changing your distance from the microphone will alter the perceived frequency on many microphones -- the closer your are, the more the lower frequencies will be emphasized. To get a consistent sound, let the comp/limiter take care of changes in the dynamics, and don't vary your distance from the microphone too much.
