I get the feeling that the effects is not being sent out through the ADAT/Direct Bus.
I record with effects...but when playback the signal is dry unles I add effects to the ADAT 9-16
Anybody else experienced this?

You can add effects during recording or after, either way is possible. There is a setting on the VM200 for Post (adding effects after routing : ie Post recording mix) or Pre(adding effects during recording) these setting are for the AUX sends and including EFF1 and EFF2. Read pages 117 and 118 of your Fostex VM200 manual. There is even a better way of doing things. I have made a Fostex VM200 Studioware panel for the VM200. I have posted it in reply to a request of a user on this site (includes a .ins file for the standard factory setup). I save the mixer settings of each song so that on playback the song has the right effects assigned to it and fader levels (saved in mid format in the .bun file). It is a better practise to route your recordings without effects and apply all your effects during the mix. The VM200 is a very powerful mixer.
Good Luck..

Pre/Post Routing

Yes, I know of the Pre/Post Routing...but is that sent out on the ADAT Port or only on the ST BUS and REC BUS? Is it sent out on the SPDIF Port? I don't always record a dry signal....especially with syn ambient patches or where the effect is a part of the sound. I can't seem to route the effects through
to the ADAT out. BTW, I D/L the VM200 Program but haven't installed it yet. I agree I'm very happy with the VM200

Thanks
