Hello guys!

I am curious... I've been recording rehearsals just for fun and practice and i got good results, but i have noticed that when I play my songs in winamp or anywhere else with graphic spectrum analyzers my songs don't seem to push up or move anything above 120 Hz

Why?

Only the bass freqs are noticeable in the analyzers, the eq of the songs sound ok, and the volume is really good compared to pro mastered songs...

Am I missing something?

I've tried adding more Mid and Hi's but it sounds Shimmery and too bright...

Any ideas?

Peace...

I recognize the issue you refer to but have no anwer. I would like to add a question to the tread though, since it is related.

When I do a spectrum analasys on basically anything, any track or mixed down song, I get a sharp peak at around 15430 hz. And I can´t touch this with peak equalisation as my paragraphic eq only goes to 15 khz. What is up with this?
(I record to pc computer and uses the spectrum an. in Sound forge.)

...maybe I have an answer for you...

I had the same problem once...my pc monitor was introducing noise into my recordings, so when I hit REC I just turn it off.

Besides, you can get an EQ that goes further than 15K some of them go way beyond 16K so this will help you (add a Hi Cut)

Is this peak noticeable to your ears?

Peace...

PC

No its not really a problem as it is not directly audible but it just bothers me to know its there. I thought at one point it might have something to do with the fact that digital recordings in 16 bit 44100 hz sound a little cold and harsh but that is of course, silly... (or is it..(horrormusic))
