Vista's comin' whether I like it or not. New Cubase required?

New to forum. Hi. This is about Cubase for PC, not Mac.

I have two questions, I will ask this one here.

My hard drive crashed and I could not find the software that came with my sound card/breakout box. So I went out and picked up a copy of Cubase SE, as that is basically what I had in the LE that came with the card.

But, I am thinking of going laptop sometime soon. Dell is not even offering laptops without Vista. Will I have to buy another version of Cubase or will it work on Vista?

Yeah probably will come with vista. But vista will eventually work with Cubase. They just don't have drivers for anything and it's full of bugs. If you are thinking of buying another version of Cubase you might as well try and buy XP or something. Otherwise you'll just have to fork out for more RAM anyway with vista.

Some people are using Vista without any problems/bugs. (me for example) I don't think I would use a Dell computer for anything musical.

A lot of "problems/bugs" people associate with Windows machines are often the result of using crap hardware. Dell machines use the cheapest parts available for IBM platform machines.

If you want less problems... try another company that makes computers for this purpose.

...or build your own...although I guess that doesn't count if we're talking laptops.
