When I play a midi is it better sound with Roland Virtual Sound Canvas SC-88 (softsynth) or SB live (fonts).
Do someone know some better softsynth for midi files? I tried Yamaha' s SYG-100 but it wasn't so good.

Is there some professional program for playing of midi files with
really good sound.
thank you for every answer....

Sound Fonts on the SB Live are capable of sounding far better than the VSC -- depending, of course, on the quality of the particular Sound Font sound set you are using.

And there are plenty of superior software synths on the market, some truly spectacular in quality, but costing a fair bit of filthy lucre, from under $100 to upwards of half a grand or so.

Some soft samplers like LiveSound or VSampler that let you load Sound Fonts as well as other sample formats.
