Virtual drum options other than MIDI and BFD2?

Hi guys,

Newbie question...

I want to put down a drum track using anything other than a real drum kit.

Midi options have proven to sound not real enough to be effective (for me) and the only alternative I've looked in to is BFD2, which sounds great and although it has limitations next to a real drummer would definitely do the job for me, but the price tag is large.

Are there any drum options in between these two that you know of?

What are you guys using?

Try looking into the Toontrack software. I have both types of software from them. I use the EZDrummer and I just recently bought the upgrade to Superior Drummer. This is midi software that uses real drum samples and you can also trigger with Edrums. EZdrummer also comes with its own midi beats where you can drag and drop into your sequencer program. There are also expansion packs with different drums and styles of drum beats. For what its worth, its like $150 on musiciansfriend website. Give it a try, you won't be let down.

I'd co-sign on checking out ToonTrack's options. EZDrummer is awesome at the pricepoint, SD 2.0 is even better with a slightly lower pricetag than BFD.
