Vintage Audiophonic home recording device.

I've heard of these but never seen one of these. I agree it would be great fun to have a play with though. I would love to hear how a recording sounds with it.
 
I'm not sure how vintage or authentic that thing is as its made by a toy company and the seller talks about it being made out of plastic. And in the era of gramophone recorders, there was no plastic. Bakelite, maybe. But plastic is more of a post WWII material. Then again for 25 bucks, the seller isn't asking the world for it.

I'd probably pass on that and hold out for a genuine article from the original era.

Yeah I've seen some things not unlike this at antique stores and such. Kind of like a dictaphone, but gramophone-style instead of phonograph-style. This would be the kind of machine used in The King's Speech, I believe.
