I posted this song quite a while ago... now I thought I would do a video for it. Funny how the song changes meaning because of what video stock is free on the internet.

Let me know what you think.....

And hey, I gave a plug for Supercreep's CD in there. Be sure to check it out 'cause it rocks.

Pretty cool.
I'd have liked a slower transition to colour though.
The apocalyptic scenarios suited the solo well - I noticed you went for a happy ending of sorts though.
Nice to put a face to the avataar.
What program did you use to construct & edit the vid?
Clouds is a cool CD isn't it!

I liked it. You might consider your studio shots with a similar color/pantina (sp?), as it constrasts quite a bit from the "old time" video shots.

Also the lip syncing was off an amount at times too. Maybe sing only the track live to avoid that. That's what I did with my guitar videos.

good stuff

Yeah, I had just gotten SC's cd about 2 hours before doing the video and it was sitting on my desk. lol. I just kind of pieced it together with no clear message until I stumbled across the submarine stuff. I used Sony Vegas. Lots of functionality for a good price. Plus it does AVCHD which, at the time I bought , not many other editors could.

Thanks man,

Thanks Mix. I wanted the studio shot to be separte, like storyteller vs story, so that's why I didnt change the color scheme for those parts. Ya know, I had everything lined up perfectly and it was all sync'd nicely. Then as I was editing, I made some mistakes and pushed some clips around. I could never get them back in line again. Thanks for the comments.

I'm really digging the tune mainly. I don't remember hearing this, and I listen to almost everything here by the regulars, even if I don't always comment. Really like this song, man.

Thanks Rami. I don't remember when I posted the tune, but it was about a year to a year and a half ago. Cheers,

Hey Dave, I can see you from here....!:D
Nicely done, bro. I remember this tune, pretty nice.

Hey Chili. I don't remember hearing this tune before...maybe I missed it the first time around?

This is pretty cool. You've got the contrast between all of the stock footage and then you, hanging out in your own space. Then there are some nicely timed events, like the first atom bomb going off just at the right point in the song. I liked the reverse fireworks too.

What is it with all of the military footage though? I saw similar stuff from rayc and bulls hit - lots of 50's, 60's and 70's cold war/korea/vietnam era stuff. Is there some online military video library that you all raid from? I guess I might have preferred more stuff you shot yourself, but this was pretty cool and the quality seems quite good. :)

I agree with this. I don't really get the constant vintage war themes that seem to go with most homemade youtube vids. I mean it's put together well, and I couldn't make a video of anything to save my life, I'm just not getting the connection. I found myself more listening to just the song and not really putting the audio/video message together.

Yeah, I think there's a lot of free stock footage. I remember when I first thought I'd actually have the patience to put together a video, I went searching for free footage, and most of it was either war bullshit, or American propaganda bullshit from the 50's and 60's.

I think people should go the "Reefer Madness" route. There's some funny shit right there, even though it fits into the American propaganda bullshit category. :D

Thanks for all the comments guys. yeah, the vintage war stuff is what is free for downloading. When you google free video stock, mostly what comes up is Royalty-Free, which means you still have to pay for it. I ain't gonna do that, so the only free for downloads was this stuff.

It kind of pertains to me a little because I served in the US Submarine fleet and that shit was my life for 6 years. Still get nightmares where I reenlisted. lol. I did it this way just to knock something out real quick. It took a few hours to do.

I'm working on another video that will be 100% original footage and will involve the whole family. Should be fun.... I hope.

Thanks again for listening/watching.
