Flailing up a storm.
So i am picking up my second LCD, and am really pumped to have the dual monitor things happening, it is going to be great for mixing and tracking and such.
I am a pretty techincal person, i alway build my own machines etc, but I have never set up a dual monitor situation.
Looking for tips and tricks, video card reccomendations etc.
Currently i am running a 128 MB GForce 4200 or 4600 i forget. I believe it has VGA and DVI outs, so i could probably set this up for dual monitors right?

I am pretty sure i am gonig to want to upgreade the video card at some point to allow somer more robust stuff, so looking to confiugre my current setup as well as plan for the next upgrade.

THanks,
Dave.

When I was searching for dual head video cards, one thing I started to notice, (on a lot of consumer cards,) was that the second video port (output) could not go to very high resolution if both ports are in use.

I didn't want to be stuck with having one monitor set to say, 1280 x 1024 and then the other monitor only able to go to maybe 800 x 600. You have to examine the specs very closely and look for max output resolution for both heads. I ended up buying a used Matrox Parhelia Dual DVI on Ebay and I still am not entirely satisfied with the resolution settings.

i have been using it for about a year and it does help alot with mixing and tracking.
