Via Chipset

i recently posted about my interest in the audiophile 2496 card. after doing some more forum crusing, i notice that alot of cards are NOT compatable with the AMD with the VIA chipset. i have a pent 3 600b 133mhz fsb with a ASUS P3V133 motherboard with the VIA chipset.

my question is: is the uncompatability problem common also to a pentium 3 with a VIA chipset?

anyone have any input or suggestions for a card that IS compatable with the pent/VIA combination or one that will give me the least problems. in the $200- $300 range...TIA
 
Yes and no. Most of the newer VIA and AMD mobos work well with these soundcards, but if for someone your particular setup doesn't the majority of the Soundcard Makers are not going to help you. M-Audio is the only company that I know of that fully supports AMD and VIA chipsets.

Yes, if your Intel setup has a VIA chipset you will run into the same problem as the AMD users with the VIA chipset.
