VF80 to CD Burner

I just ordered a VF80 and was wondering if I should have gotten the internal CD burner. I already own a pretty good stand alone burner (A TDK). Question: Are there outputs on the VF80 to send the signal to a stand alone burner? Bear in mind that I haven't gotten mine yet, so I can't tell.

The VF80 has S/PDIF and SCSI connections.

Im not positive,but I think most "stand alone" burners will work with the VF80 if you are using the S/PDIF digital input/output.Does your burner have an S/PDIF digital input/output?

Maybe it's just me, but I'd consider getting one with the built-in burner. It's very convenient, works like a charm, and has a very low error rate.

I know my Pioneer Cd burner has s/pdif in/outs, as well as optical in/outs. It's easy to connect the VF to and burn CD's.

There are probably advantages to having the internal CD burner, but I don't know what they are. If you already have another burner it's probably not worth the extra $$ to get an internal one.

I agree, if you have a stand alone cd recorder with S/PDIF jacks, use the $200 price difference to invest in microphones or other equipment like a good outboard pre-amp. And make sure you have enough $$ left over for a special night out with your significant other or spouse, it'll help make up for all the evenings you'll be working on musical projects and neglecting your relationships.

I also found I could use the analogue outs to burn to my stand alone burner. (til I get the coaxial cord.)
