Question: Does the VF80 not re-copy music from a regular CD that has copyright protection on it? Here's the thing... I use movie soundtracks as short music beds for commercials. Taking in a track through the onboard CDR from "Shawshank Redemption", I added a vocal, bounced to 7/8 then mastered, but when I went to burn it said "VOID!"

I am guessing it's because of the copyright on the original CD I took the music from, yes? If not, can anyone give me some other clues...

By the way, this seems like a great machine! The Samson CO1 mikes need a stocking screen thingy to stop popping the p's...

Have you tried importing a wav you created on your PC to see if it has the same problem? I've never heard of copyright info appearing in wavs ripped from a CD. Maybe there is support info the VF needs in order to make sense of external wav - although that seems unlikely since it let you dub and master...

Hmmm.

Part 2...

It's saying "Void" when I push the last two buttons to start the record process -- and this is with non-copyright material... So either I missed a step, or something's wrong. I'm going to try a different brand of disk...

i've done all the track bounce/mastering stuff, so I don't see what the problem could be.
