I cant get sound on the right - not monitor out, no headphones, nothing!!! Everything is fine on the left but if I pan to the right I cannot hear anything.
I have turn it off and wait and back on and nothing helps!

WTH do I do now???

Few things to check:

-When you recorded, was the master panned all the way to the left?

-Is your right output muted, or something?

-Make sure the cables are pushed all the way in, or else one side won't play.

-If the headphones aren't even working, try a different pair. If they don't work either, then it's most likely the first problem I mentioned.

...If none of these fix it, then your recorder might be defective... :(

It isnt any of these... not the cables, not the headphones, not the monitors, the recordings were not done all to the left. It is something internal... I can see the meters for the right going on but it just wont sound as it should.

Maybe I should have not turned it off the last time I used it - >:(

This doesn't sound like anything else but a blown circuit on the right side. You are only hearing left channel info? Not right channel panned hard left? This is both via monitors and headphones? If so, then I think the right channel in the stereo buss is out. Regardless of the cause... I don't know if there's a fuse involved somewhere that you can access.

I'd call Fostex.

I hope it's something simple. What a bummer.

I can hear music if i turn it up to +6. Other than that I hear ground noise so maybe something blew up in there. Geesh! and just right after turning a year old - how convenient!

Well if it's something that can't be fixed, or replaced, look on the bright side... you should still be able to record stuff(even if you can only playback through left), and then transfer it to your pc, or wherever, and it should still play fine.
*comfort*

There is an authorized repair center 3 hrs from me - I'll be calling them tomorrow.

I forgot to update this - but there is nothing to say really.
The shop couldnt find anything wrong with it. The noise disappeared just as soon as it showed up. Strange...

...Fostex is strange, when you're a Fostex... (A la Doors)
