Ouch

You'd be best to contact Fostex on that one. If they can't help, you'll probably need to get a new drive and format it. Then, with a hard drive editor or DOS or Unix, put the old one in a computer as a slave drive and try to discipher how the stuff is arranged in FDMS-3 and copy it to the new drive. The info is linear and uncompressed, so you might be able to convert it to wavs on the computer. Not sure if anyone has made a converter yet or you might need to learn and make one yourself. To transfer to the new drive in FDMS-3, you'll also need to figure out how the space is allocated.

I have Vf160 that I don't care about what's on it, so I'll pop the HD in a computer and see what's there.

full disk

Have you tried booting up the VF160 with an operating system upgrade CD in the CD-ROM drive?
