A question that may be of use for many users.

I am trying to use an external SCSI HDD with the VF16 (The drive is a HP D3341A 4,2 GB SCSI HDD, Partitioned into two 2 GB partitions, formatted FAT16 and terminated). But VF16 does not recognize the drive at all.
The drive works fine on all my computers SCSI controllers.
The VF16 works just fine with an external SCSI ZIP drive.

Does anyone have info about which SCSI drives work. Protocol
used is SCSI-2 as far as I know. Have any external SCSI HDDs been tried out?

I think a lot of people would like to use the wave export to external drives. ZIP drives are way too small and the ORB drives aren't very good.

Please help.

I may not be qualified to answer this since i still use the fd8, but, on my recorder the fd8 has to format the scsi hdd by itself. (ok, w/ some prompting), in whatever format it is that fostex uses so the hdd is ready to record to.
Good luck

I'm having the same problem you're having. Although I use an Orb the methodology should be the same. Have you gotten a solution yet. By the way I've had my Orb ever since it came out and have not had one single failure.
