I'm considering trying to pick one of these up as they're going for about £280-£300.

For those of you that own these units, is it the type of thing you'd risk buying used? Is it sturdy, will it stand being thrown about by bored postal workers? Are there any common faults that could be hidden by the seller? Can there be problems with disk space or can all previous material be erased without problems?

Lastly, how much is the compatible CD burner going for on its own. I seem to remember people saying it was around £220 in the UK?

Cheers all.

i think buying used is always a tad risky, since you'll get no warranty (?). UPS folks here in the US handle things for speed of delivery. Their slogans usually say "on time" not "intact." There's a reason for that. The VF80 in general is in my view a very well built machine. I know of no flaws, except the not well translated manual. The latest software version is V1.05.

Would there be any problems with disc space being used up or can it all be deleted easily?

I've been away... Anyway, you can format the VF80's HD or simply erase program by program -- easy...
