Vesta Fire MR-10 manual?

I recently bought a Vesta Fire MR-10.
The original adapter wasn't included in the package I received.
Everytime I turn on the machine and switch on a channel for recording on one of the two switches, it starts making a loud noise.
The noise is different for all of the 4 channels.
I am wondering if I am doing anything wrong or it could be because of the unoriginal adapter feeding the machine with possibly wrong voltage.
Therefore I have been searching the internet for a manual, but no luck...

Any help out there?

-Brian

Does anybody know where to get a hold of a manual?
Or has anybody experienced the same problem?

Please help ! :-)

Nearest I could find -drop them a line.
I had one of these back in the day theres not much to them as I recall - what are you plugging in? / monitoring through?

Nothing.
The buzzing sound is from the machine itself.
It is humming whenever i change the channel, from the machine, not the outputs...
They should be pretty simple, that's why I don't understand what I'm doing wrong...

Think you are bang on with the adaptor theory. there must be notice where the adaptor plugs in stating polarity (a (- ) sort of sign and voltage and amperage all of these are vital for it to work. The sound you are hearing is likely to be an unhappy transformer so dont plug it in until you are sure.
I reckon an email to VESTAX or take it into your local Tandy / Radio shack / Maplins will sort it for about a tennor.

Appreciate this post's from a long time ago, but are you still after a manual?
If so, I have one, such as it is.....
Let me know if/how we go on from here.....

well I know its old thread but I just got my dead one working today.. I think it had a 'stuck' diode on the power input board...the motor was getting power but none the audio areas were...which was an informative dicotomy. I took a jumper and just touched the regulated 11v to the area where the red audio (+10v) leads were for an instant ( for fear I might burn something up). I was just hoping to see if it would make any trainsient noise..just for an instant, ...but...totoally unexpectedly...presto! with a pop in the headphones it came to life and stayed on! I know almost nothing about circuits but I think maybe the diode was 'stuck' open somehow and this somehow 'unstuck it' , but it was really seemed an electrical 'miracle'. I've tried to repair a few things in my life but have NEVER had something get 'fixed' like that. Its been working all day now. Now if it does it again I think maybe I can fix it buy changing the diode or something.

My Vestafire PS is model PS-15-US, rated 15v and 500mA. As long as your PS is 12-15v, as it says on the deck right next to the power jack, and it puts out at least 500mA, it shouldn't be the problem. But if your PS is like 9v or something, yeah that could maybe be it idk. I ran a tube mic once with the PS accidentally set to 230v AC but being fed 115v AC... mic was really low output and had hum. MR-10 wouldnt work if polarity was wrong of course. I'm not sure but I think my failed diode might help with reverse protection, idk. There's a voltage regulator there too that gets REALLY hot,.. idk why PS is 15v rated when it only needs 12.(maybe they thought it could sag under certain conditions idk. My PS reads like 17-20v! Measured on the power board with regulator in the circuit it reads about 11v (analog meter-coarse readings). My PS gets quite warm for a wart too, even unloaded. So yeah I would just make sure you are feeding it 12-15v DC, and at least 500mA, that's all the help I can give.
