Vesta Fire 4-track - what the heck is it?

Just curious - I've been poking around on eBay, and I keep seeing these. Has anyone ever used one, or know anything about them? I'm just wondering how they stack up against the Tascam / Fostex stuff. According to one of the sellers, it retailed for $400.00, which I guess is similar in price to the 414, or thereabouts. Thanks!

I've had a Vesta Fire 4-track, and it's as good as Fostex or Tascam or any other 4-track. I wouldn't pay $400 for it though, a couple more notes and you could go digital! Also this years analogs aren't any more expensive and you might as well get a new one. Hope this helps!

Most of the catalog prices I see recently list the 414 at about $299, the 424 at $479, and the comparable models of Fostex 4-track cassette machines a bit less. I came across a reference to the Vesta-Fire in a guitar mag, and it got me to wonderin' as well. ???
