Hi,

As stated, I am new to recording. I use to only use a compressor mic hooked to my computer and then just use audacity or the like, but at the hint of someone I use to work with, I got the Boss BR 600. I'm at a complete loss on how to use this thing. I'm usually good at figuring out the basic record and play after reading the manual, but I don't think I'm doing that right. I just want to test the built in mics. I've recorded tests (I think) and I've hooked up an old Peavey speaker, but nothing comes out. I don't know what I need to get for it and eventually I'd like to use it with my pc. I would really like to have some one break this down for me.

Is the 'old Peavey speaker' powered (have a built-in amp)? Do you have headphones you can try wiht the headphone jack?

Where are you getting lost in the process of recording - did you select the track(s), then the virtual track(s) before starting the recording?

My speakers are basically amps. I've used them for mics at gigs. I don't have a jack for headphones. That, I do need to get. I'm at a loss on pretty much the basics. I've tried to do a test demo, but haven't found a way to listen to it, but there is nothing but silence. Maybe my speakers are not compatible. I am honestly not sure if there is anything recorded. I do not know how to work this thing, but maybe I just don't have the right setup. Like I mentioned. I'm use to just a USB condenser mic and audacity...
