Anybody have any thoughts on this bundle? IK Multimedia are running a special on it at the minute.

I swear by it for mastering my tracks. It doesn't work for everything, but I like it better than the previous version.

Anything "might" work in the appropriate quantity and setting. Sometimes using a pipe wrench as a hammer simply works.

No product bashing here just saying that in mastering a one tool does everything is rare...ask the pro's. That said, for a diy solution and budget and the learning curve...it may work for you.

I've demo'd it. Didn't have the flexibility I was looking for but have to say, it "cleaned up" and did several things simlutaneously. Sometimes with likeable results, other times, not so much. Maybe with committed practice with the product I could do better.

I have a collection of EQ's compressors, expanders blah blah blah that I've simply gotten comfortable with and ultimately, when I have anything worth putting a proper polish on, I send it away and let a pro take care of it for me.

Peace, good luck.

I just installed version 3. The thing is there are many different versions of version--each containing a different set of plugs. I got the deluxest version--with all the "yellow-face" plugs, and a bunch of new ones.

To tell you the truth, I don't if the basic set is much improved or not--I'm too busy playing with the new ones. There's a vintage 670 comp, a linear phase EQ, and program EQ, and a nice opto comp.

I haven't worked with their hardware counterparts, so I can't speak to their authenticity--but I can tell you they're a cut above most of my plugs.

Some are better suited for individual tracks instead of the master bus, and I've actually gone through whole projects replacing comps & EQs with the new "vintage" T-Racks plugs.

from my personal experience with both many different types of outboard compressors and every dynamic plug in known to man...

I don't think t racks is setting out to replace outboard opto compressors and fairchilds, however, this is some of the strongest dynamic processing I've ever heard in plug-in form. Excluding some of the UAD stuff. I used to avoid heavy compression with plug ins until this.

Specifically the linear phase EQ, fairchild, brickwall limiter and opto compressor. You can tell that from the type of clarity you retain, even in super high compression settings. Super transparent if you really listen for it. Pretty smooth all around. That's what got my initial reaction.

The opto works really well on stuff that need to stay clean. Vocals, guitars, kick and snares, bass, etc. It reminds a little of the DBX 162 series of compressors.

The pultec EQ is good, but not really the type of soul I remember hearing on any of the pultecs I've used. It just sucks on CPU usage cause of the oversampling.

The fairchild gets a little dirty with high compression, but sounds rock solid on alot of buss compression stuff that dosn't need super high end crisp. It dampens stuff up a little.

I'd treat it more as just a really good plug-in set than a copy of the originals.

Well folks, I bought 5 of the T-Racks Plugs and got a CSR verb for €90. Went with the classics and the 670 which I presume is a Fairchild knock-off? First impressions wcho those of White Strat, they seem to cover alot of bases in a pretty straight-forward way. I've never had alot of plug-ins to use, and most of the ones I have are freebies, from Kjaerhus Audio. So far, so good I guess!
