I just recently purchased a delta 101 bundled with vegas pro full version. I like the program a lot. I record trks 1&2 of my delta to individual trks in the vegas. The only thing I am having a problem with is how can I assign the rest of my delta trks (3 thru 8) the the rest of vegas to record 8 trks at once. I tried playing with setting different busses but it didn't help me at all. I canot find any way to choose specific trks from the delat to assign with individual trks of vegas (like cool editor cakewalk). I tried the routing tab in the preference section but I can only get microsoft sound mapper. Whenever I try to chage the master output type to configure(quadrophonic or 5.1 sound) I get an error message forcing me to close vegas program. What should I do? Is this software only design to record the first two trks of any hardware? I need help.

Vegas only uses the I/O channels that are assigned within Windows. For example, I have a Gina and a turtle beach montego, so what shows up when I use the assign control for recording (arm the track for recording to get the menu) is: A choice of the analog pair on Gina, The S/PDIF pair on Gina and the audio pair on the Montego. For outputs, the assignment choices are the 4 pairs of analog outs on the Gina, the stereo pair S/PDIF out on the Gina and the analog out stereo pair on the Montego.
It will record separately to as many channels as you have physically connected to the soundcard.

hi,

I hope thAT you have already got the answer to your question, but if it is of any help, I believe that all your inputs should show up in Vegas if the drivers are installed properly.

to record 8 tracks, create 8 new tracks, but before you arm for record, click on the letter in the track, and it will show you ALL available inputs. Select the ones you want, and then have fun recording.

But the most important part is to click on that letter and selet the input you want.

By the way, if you only have to record two inputs, don't use 1 and 2, as they are the closest to the power and as such have a little bit more noise than the other inputs.I use inputs 6, 7 and 8
