OK, guys and girls, newbies and recording experts, heres the thread of the month ;-):

HOW DO YOU MIC A PIANO ???

As far as I have found out this is a question that has almost religious significance amongst studio- and live sound engineers, so lets get over that 'Best whatever mic for xxx$' threads and bring up real things where everyone can learn from by trying out the one or other solution posted by the community...

So don't give me the ' UH, I like my TLMsoundsnice for piano' shit and tell everyone HOW you do it, theres no secrets to be kept...

thanks for the link, nice resource...

But mainly I'm interested in personal oppinions and different ways how other people do it, sometimes one kinda sticks to the well experienced , safe, and usual pattern and tends to forget that there are more ways to experiment with, so how do YOU do it?

thanx

Personally I haven't needed to mic our piano yet, but if I did I would start with the ideas in those links and experiment from there.
BTW.......have you done a search here on "piano" or "micing piano"?

Peace..........ChrisO
