Alright, so I've gotta/wanna get a power supply for guitar pedals and general experimentation purposes. I looked at the Small Warts from Small Bear Electronics but they only put out between 7.5v to 9v, I believe.
I'd like one with a better range of voltages (the wider the better) and a decent mA rating (at least 200mA). I don't mind if it's in kit format either.
I haven't had much luck finding anything that fits the bill, but maybe someone else has?:D

What spawned this was an Ibanez Phaser pedal that I broke a few years ago (polarity issues and stupidity). A few months ago I *thought* I had found the problem and fixed it, but now it won't run on 9v adapters (only 5v; hums slighty) and 9v batteries. With 9v batteries it doesn't hum, but the output sounds like a mix between the full on phase and the dry signal, whereas it didn't with the hummy adapter. I want the best of both worlds.
So, in short, I'm looking to try different voltages from a well-regulated power supply and see if that'll make any difference.
Thanks in advance to anyone who is able to offer any advice.

two things jump out at me here... first if it wont play at the voltage the manf specifies... IT'S BROKE !!!... period... dont try to run it at a lower or higher voltage... second 200 mil ain't much juice... are you intending to use this with multiple units concurrently???

More's better, definitely, but I don't have too many pedals that I even use at the same time (2, 3 at most), so I could probably get by with 200 if I had to. Just givin' a baseline.

Surely there's no harm in trying for shits and giggles? I mean sure, on occasion, it squeals as though it's on the verge of death but what's there to lose? If I break it completely it's not big loss and in its current state it's just beyond the realm of usefulness.

Fixed it, thanks mostly to some sheer dumb luck. Now it's working sans-hum with the 9 volt adapter as it ought to be.
