I always found them hard to adjust, unless you've got a lot of time. The points where it sounded good (which they do when properly adjusted) were hard to find. The most miniscule knob adjustments were needed, and it could be kind of frustrating. Not a very forgiving piece, but good sounding when tweaked right. Just don't breathe on it or look at it funny after you get it set. ;)

If it works and it doesn't need to much work, $50 is a pretty good price. Its only good for particular things though. Not oggd for trying to gate noisy amps or things like that. The main design was for drum applications or things that were really percussive. I blew the fuse in mine and Im procrastinating on whether to have a service tech go through it.

Anybody used one? is $50 used a good price to pay?
Hi. I see in some posts back in 2004 that you provided someone with the manual for the Valley/US Audio Gatex 4. Would you happen to have a digital copy you can send me so that i can figure it out? It sounds like you own(ed) one - any suggestions for settings for kick, T1, T2, T3? Thx
