Hi All,

Just got a ES8 and want a VA. Recommendations Please.
Maybe a MS2000B.
Under $1000. I play covers, 70-90's rock, jazz etc. and some originals. The ES8 covers most sounds. Want a VA the will compliment it.

Thanks in advance
JD

I think for the money the ms2000b is the best choice.
They're all different and cool in their own ways, but for $500 or whatever ridiculous price an ms2000 goes for these days, you can't beat it. I paid $1024 for mine and I'd never sell it.

Doesn't YAMAHA make a VA expansion card??? Woould seem like the best buy to me....

There is a VA card.... I have it inside the CS6R but there's no comparison with the meaty, dense sound of the ION.... IMHO

Meaty and dense? You're kidding, right?

Not really... just a bit :D

Anyway the Yamaha VA card sounds a bit "thin" to my ears... whereas the ION has some powerful basses (i own a NordRack3 as well and i wouldn't say that the ion sounds bad in comparison).

I second the suggestion of getting an Ion. The big plus of getting the Ion over the MS2000b are all the filter types!

Tried the ION but each one I tried had the knob problem (watch out!!)..
Bought the Nord Lead 2x and it's a fine synth.. I like it better than the ION, but that comes down to personal taste.
