Just took apart another V67G for a new mod I'm involved in (I'll explain later) and noticed the transformer was different than previous models. It could just be cosmetics, but the laminates LOOK better. I've ordered Jensen and Cimenag transformers and the lams on those looked almost like chrome. The MXL trafos USED to look dull grey and poorly put together. The new one has shiny laminates like the Cinemag trafos with blue tape and better looking wire. They also are fitted more tightly together compared to the others.
Could it be Marshall has stepped up the quality of their components a bit?
