I posted a note in The Rack section (mostly about the new 8ch A/D-D/A converter rack at $249) but I also mentioned the new V-AMP. Since I'm guessing not all of us who read the guitar board also read the rack board, I thought I'd mention it here.

The rack mount version of the V-AMP ($269) has stereo balanced outs, 24/96k digital outs (AES/EBU and S/PDIF), and pre- and post-send/return.

The URL for the V-AMP rack is:

Is $269 the street price or the list?

That's the list (MSRP). Amazing, isn't it?

Great price but I hope they could afford it to put it in an all metal case this time :D

Willich, Germany - In a move sure to elicit little surprise from those in the music industry, Behringer will be making a change to better position itself in its particular market. Effective July 1, 2003 Behringer will be changing it's name to V-6.

Setting the pace for the corporate name and identity change is president Uli Behringer, who has already changed his name to Uli V-Muench, after Line 6 President Mike Muench. Says V-Muench, "Ze modeler market is becoming saturated and it iz clear zat zere is a new mahket vaiting to be tapped. Unt vee at V-6 are positioning ourzelvez to be ze leader in zat mahket. Unt zat mahket is ze modeler modeler marhket. Da! V-6 will become ze world's leader in modeling ze leading equipment modeler. Ve will zelebrate ze corporate name change in July vit ze introduction of our first guitar, ze V-Ax, vich should retail for about $499 US. Unt be azzured zat our corporate R unt D team is busy spying, er, studying, ze major players in ze modeling market zo we can be poised to adapt should Line 6 begin to lose its competive edge!"

Ever the plagiristic visionary, V-Muench's first corporate directive after changing his name was to prohibit pens and markers of any kind within the corporations facilites. "Of course ve wil prohibit ink of any kind on ze premises. Erasing vill become a major tactic in our relentless purzuit of other companies' designs, zo ve must be prepared to erase kvickly and copy ze now best of breed modeling technology available. From now on, only pencils unt chalk at V-6!" declared an enthusiastic V-Muench.

DaveO, funny bit there, but... why do you have Uli talking with a French accent?

Sorry, it's been about 25 years since I spoke any German. I'm a little rusty.
